Marlborough Day 2008
Marlborough Day is the annual
Festival held in the historic town of Upper Marlboro, MD. This is the
event where you just have to ask yourself “Where else can you find so
much fun with so much to do and still be so close to home?” The
festival is a non-profit event held in celebration of our town,
community, its people, our rich diversity and our rich history. It’s a
time to enjoy some good old fashion fun with your family, friends and
neighbors. This is your festival! Spring is in full bloom and its time
to enjoy this wonderful town and all it has to offer.
This year marks our 32nd year for the festivities. The event is always held on the Saturday
before Mother’s Day and begins with a good old fashion parade. The
parade alone is a treat to watch with marching bands, clowns, drill
teams, fire trucks, dancers, local politicians, old time cars, and lots
more! But you can be sure the fun doesn’t stop there! After the
parade, the streets are lined with arts & craft vendors selling an
assortment of interesting things to dazzle mom with or simply indulge
yourself. Clowns and street entertainers roam the streets; stages are
filled with free entertainment ranging from singers, dancers, live bands
and much more catering to wide range of tastes. The town is also filled
with the aroma of cotton candy, roasted nuts, hamburgers, hot dogs,
sausages, deli-sandwiches, funnel cakes, all kinds of drinks, various
types of ethnic foods, and much much more! So don’t miss the fun, it
only comes once a year! Remember, it’s your festival, held in your
town, held for you to enjoy!
